Expressive Art Events are presented as ‘One-day’ or ‘Half-day’ workshops.

These are ideal for groups and a great idea to build staff moral in a non-threatening manner.

Popular topics include worry, clutter, loss, change, letting go, making decisions.

Or you may choose your own topic and let us plan a workshop to meet your need.

Events can be presented at your organisation, or at a venue that you arrange.

Pricing is negotiated once we have a clear indication of what is wanted.

Art counselling makes use of art to express and communicate. Art is the language through which a person explores, discovers and challenges their inner and outer worlds. The goal of art counselling is personal healing and growth.

Art counselling and Expressive art activities offer you a chance:

  • To Express yourself
  • To Communicate your ideas
  • To Explore, discover and challenge yourself
  • To Achieve healing & growth

No art skill is required.

One does not need to be good at art to be able to use it.

Art for counselling is NOT the same as creating beautiful artworks for exhibit. The work created is personal and not for public display.

The art work and the experience of making art are both important in achieving the goals of personal healing and growth.

Art counselling may be used with individuals, families or groups. It is especially helpful with children and others who have difficulty verbalising problems, and expressing themselves.

A fun and non-threatening way for a family to use art in getting to know themselves and each other within the family context.

Three sessions of art making specifically designed for family evaluation.

Get to know yourself and learn more about your family dynamics.

Protective Behaviours was designed to provide quality education on child safety. The programme teaches children how to identify when they are feeling unsafe, which may be for any reason. Sometimes there is a life-threatening situation or trauma and sometimes it is just a normal part of growing up. Children are taught how to know when they are not feeling safe, regardless of the reason, and what they can do about it.

Protective Behaviours helps build resilience. Strong, healthy minds and souls make good defence against negative influences. “What could be better than to help hurt children? Helping them before they are hurt.” Protective Behaviour concepts offer a way to increase resilience and help prevent harm in the first place. Prevention is always better than cure.

We offer Protective Behaviour workshops privately or through schools.

Children aged 7 to 12 years.

Option of children attending alone or with parents / guardians.

Since 1975, Protective Behaviours has been taught to many children across the world. It all began with Peg West in America and was then taken to Australia. It is now also offered in the UK and South Africa.

Workshops are a series of sessions, from between 3 to 10 sessions on a specific theme.

For example:

  • Teacher workshops – helping teachers understand how to use Expressive Art with Children
  • Protective Behaviour Lessons that are taught using art

Support groups are facilitated in collaboration with organisations.

Therapeutic art activities are based on particular themes.

How it works. Participants make their own individual art work to express themselves on a given theme. A suggestion is offered to people to get started. They choose how to make their own personal expressive work or are guided by some suggestions.
